PROGRAM OVERVIEW
3-Year Part-Time and ADVANCED STANDING ALTERNATIVE PLAN (ASAP)
The Part-Time MSW Option and the ASAP Program Option offered on the Newark campus provides the opportunity to enroll in The Ohio State University's nationally recognized and fully accredited MSW program with the convenience of being close to home. We recognize that students often have may responsibilities including work; therefore, both programs allow students to complete the program on a part-time basis with most classroom courses being schedule during the evening. Students will be required to take 7 classroom classes at the Columbus campus to complete their degree. Those courses are offered at many different times, including evening hours.
The OSU College of Social Work's MSW program provides an educational experience that responds to the need for greater competency in diverse practice arenas. Students acquire knowledge and skills in foundation areas of social work focusing on research, welfare polices and programs, human behavior and the social environment, and human diversity, as well as advanced skills in clinical or social administrative practice.
Regional campus students receive the same quality educational experience as their Columbus campus counterparts. Classes are taught by College of Social Work faculty and community instructors using the same syllabi and texts used at the Columbus campus. In addition, the regional campuses provide a full array of services for their students: financial aid counseling, academic advising, library services, student activities, computer labs, disability services, bookstore, physical activities center and free parking.
