“Too Much Light” Offers Endless Possibilities
No two performances alike in "Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind"

February 14, 2008- Newark, OH- The Ohio State University at Newark Department of Theatre is proud to present its winter production “Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind.” Performances will be on February 28, 29 and March 1 (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) and again March 6, 7 and 8 (Thursday-Saturday). All performances will be at 8 pm in the Black Box Theatre in LeFevre Hall. Tickets are $1 to $6, depending on the roll of a die. Because the plays feature adult language and situations, no one under 17 will be admitted.
“Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind” is a collective work originally created (and still being created) by the Neo-Futurists, a group formed and led by Ohio native and Oberlin graduate Greg Allen. It is high-energy presentational theatre, meaning that the actors do not pretend to be characters. The 7-member ensemble will perform 30 plays in 60 minutes©`; the audience will determine the order of the plays.
“The evening will be unlike anything you have ever experienced: it is sort of a theatrical fruit salad,” said director Dave Williams. “If you don’t like one piece, hang on… and you might just love the next one.” Williams encourages repeated attendance during the course of the run. As the New York cast says, “If you’ve seen this show once – you’ve seen it once!”
