DEPARTMENT OF THEATRE PRESENTS ANOTHER ANTIGONE

November 16, 2006—Newark, OH—The Ohio State University at Newark Department of Theatre presents its Autumn production, A.R. Gurney’s Another Antigone. Performance dates are Friday and Saturday, November 24-25 and Thursday through Saturday, November 30-December 2. All performances are at 7:30 pm in the Black Box Theatre in LeFevre Hall on the Ohio State Newark and COTC campus. Tickets are $3.00 for students and $4.00 for the general public.
Another Antigone opens on a Massachusetts campus when an energetic student decides to write her own version of Antigone instead of doing her term paper. Her strict, traditionalist professor refuses to give her credit and a situation develops which parallels the Greek play to a considerable degree. Also in the mix is a Dean who is having second thoughts about having left the classroom, as well as the writer’s boyfriend, who emerges from the experience with an altered perspective on life. All in all, Another Antigone promises to be an evening of absorbing, thought-provoking theater.
