In Response to Healing Exhibit at LeFevre Gallery

Response to Healing,
a
multi-artist exhibit, will be on display at the LeFevre Gallery at
The Ohio State University at Newark until June 1. The public is
welcome to attend a free reception on Friday April 13th
from 6 – 8 pm. Several of the artists will attend the reception which
will include a gallery discussion at 6:30 pm as well as refreshments.
The exhibition consists of artworks for healing, about healing, and generated during healing. The issues addressed by the artists include healing the earth and water, healing from domestic violence, various cancers, a heart ailment, mental distress, aging, the death of a loved one, a search for family history and healing spiritually.
The artwork addresses creative responses to physical, emotional, mental and spiritual healing, and the exhibit suggests the idea that art can help heal the mind, body and spirit. The works fit into at least seven thematic categories: Issues of the body, abuse, emotional healing, loss, healing the earth, healing spiritually and work by healers.
The gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-8:00 pm; Saturday, 8:00 am-5:30 pm; closed on Sunday. For more information, please call 740.366.9369.
