THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY AT NEWARK

STUDENT RESEARCH FORUM

POSTER PRESENTATIONS

 

THE RESEARCH FORUM IS OPEN TO STUDENTS OF ALL DISCIPLINES WHO ARE ENROLLED AT OHIO STATE NEWARKStudents currently conducting research or preparing research proposals for a professor are encouraged to submit an abstract in one of the categories outlined below.

Poster presentations will take place on March 8, 2007 in the Reese Center.

Posters will be judged by a diverse panel of Ohio State Newark faculty who will select category winners and provide valuable feedback to poster entrants.  Student Research Grant recipients and/or those planning to present a poster at the Denman Poster Forum in Columbus, are especially encouraged to submit an abstract.  Multiple author posters are allowed, however please be aware that awards are made to posters, not individuals.

POSTER PRESENTATION CATEGORIES

Research Proposals:  The Proposal Poster represents the commitment of a faculty person to advise the student in a student-generated research proposal.  If you have an idea for a research project, this is a great excuse to approach your favorite professor as a sponsor!

Prizes in this category:

First Place: $250 award

Second Place: $100 award

Completed Research- The Research Poster represents an active or completed research project with at least some pilot data available.

Prizes in this category:

First Place: $250 award

Second Place: $100 award

(Plus an additional $100 award to cover poster printing expenses and $25 gas card for travel expenses for each poster, if poster is presented at the Denman.)

COMPLETED SUBMISSIONS MUST INCLUDE

· Title (please keep brief)
· Student Name(s)
· Name and department of faculty sponsor
· Presentation category (proposal or completed)
· 250 word abstract that includes

-Background information / problem addressed
            -Method / approach
            -Results / predicted results

ABSTRACTS DUE FEBRUARY 2, 2007
