Professional Development

Writing Center Research Project: For the website, the University of Louisville's WCRP "conducts and supports research on writing center theory and practice and maintains a research repository of historical, empirical, and scholarly materials related to Writing Center Studies."

Training for Tough Tutorials: Training videos offering mock tutorials featuring obstacles encountered in tutorials.

Gallaudet University's English Works! Tutoring Techniques: Strategies and advice for novice and experienced Peer Writing Consultants.

LD Online: Comprehensive resource on Learning Disabilities and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.

LD Resources: An interactive blog community with many links and to LD resources and materials.

Teaching LD: Professional site sponsored by the Division for Learning Disabilities of the Council for Exceptional Children. Links to articles, studies, and other materials concerning LD.

 

Plagiarism Resources

Sharon Stoerger's Plagiarism Site: Many links to articles, case studies, plagiarism detection tools, and term paper sites.

WCopyfind: A free program (must be downloaded) that will compare two specific documents--say, an essay with a website--for chunks of matching text..

York University's Academic Integrity Tutorial: Offers tips on how students can detect and avoid plagiarism, with helpful case studies.
