Purpose: The purpose of this annual
award is to recognize outstanding contributions in the area
of service by two members of the OSUN full-time faculty —
one from tenured faculty and one from tenure-track faculty.
Such service includes, but is not limited to: 1) service
with university-wide, department, college, or campus
committees or activities; 2) involvement in scholarly and
professional organizations; 3) consultancies; 4) involvement
in local, state, national, or international organizations,
committees, and agencies; 5) involvement with student
groups; and 6) service to professional publications as
editor, associate editor, or reviewer. The Award consists of
a plaque and $1,000 for professional development.
Eligibility: All full-time OSUN teaching faculty members are
eligible, excepting previous recipients who have received
the Award during the past three years. These previous
recipients include Katherine Borland and Julie Hupp (2006),
Richard Shiels and Jessi Smith-Klaphake (2005), and Mitch
Lerner and Paul Sanders (2004).
Nominating Process: Numbered nominating ballots are
distributed to all full-time OSUN faculty in early March and
must be returned by the deadline indicated below. Each
full-time faculty member may nominate two colleagues — one
from List A and one from List B — by checking the boxes next
to the names of the two candidate of their choice. On the
back of this form, please include a brief statement of the
particular reasons why these persons were nominated.
Anonymity will be maintained. Please return your numbered
