Nomination Ballotfor
the 2006 OSUN Award for Scholarly
Accomplishment
Ballot No._______
I. Purpose:
The purpose of this annual award is to recognize two
leading scholars—one each from the tenured and
tenure-track faculty members at OSU-Newark—and to make
it possible for these persons to advance their scholarly
interests by arranging an academic quarter free of
normal responsibilities. The Award consists of a
one-course reduction in each recipient’s teaching load.
The OSUN Academic Administration has agreed to make
every reasonable effort to reschedule the recipients’
remaining courses so that one quarter will be free from
teaching responsibilities. The OSUN Faculty Assembly
agrees to release the awardees from committee
assignments and other Assembly duties for that quarter.
An eligible faculty member may not receive the Award
more than once during a three-year span. The Award
carries no funds for the activities of the project
beyond providing for the release time. To meet the
expenses of the scholarly activity applicants are
encouraged to seek funds from other sources, whether
campus or elsewhere.
II. Eligibility:
All full-time teaching faculty listed below are eligible
for the Award except former recipients (those who have
received the Award in the past three years), whose names
appear in bold type and are followed by the year they
received the Award.
III. Nominating
Process: This numbered
nominating ballot is distributed to all full-time OSUN
faculty. Each may nominate one colleague from List A
and one from List B by checking the box next to the
name of the candidate(s) of their choice.
Self-nominations are permitted. On the back of this
form, please include a brief statement outlining the
particular reasons why the persons were nominated.
Anonymity will be maintained.
Please return
your numbered ballot with comments on the reverse side
in a sealed envelope to Harding Ganz of the Professional
Standards Committee on or before Friday March 10, 2006.
