Spring Quarter:
Reading: Blake’s Poetry. Friday, April 6, 2011 in the Fireside Lounge in the Warner Center at 7:30 PM. FREE! William Blake, poet, watercolorist, nudist, and possible madman, wrote seemingly-simple poems of profound existential signficance. As he described Milton, he himself was “of the devil’s party without knowing it.”
Production: Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind, by the Neofuturists. For the third time, Ohio State Newark presents 30 new plays in 60 minutes, in an order determined by the audience. For challenging, high-voltage theatrical entertainment, this show will be hard to top!
Dates: Th/F/S, May 24, 25, and 26, and Th/F/S, May 31, and June 1 and 2, in the Black Box Theater, LeFevre Hall, at 8 PM. Ticket prices are $1-6, determined by the random roll of a die.
Improv: Ohio State Newark’s improv troupe, Outside the Box will present its third and final show on Wednesday, June 6, at 7:30 PM in the Black Box Theater. FREE, with FREE pizza afterward!
Special events:
The winning script from the Inaugural Ohio State Newark New Play Contest (selected from over 250 entries) will be given a special reading during the spring quarter: date and time to be announced.
Pending negotiations, a joint performance of Outside the Box and Denison University’s improv troupe, Burpee’s Seedy Theatrical Company, may occur.
