Welcome to the Office of Career Development and Experiential Learning Services

The Office of Career Development and Experiential Learning Services is available to assist students and alumni of The Ohio State University at Newark and Central Ohio Technical College.  The office is located on the second floor of the John L. and Christine Warner Library and Student Center, Room 226. The office provides students and graduates with individualized career planning and consultation with job search strategies, labor market information, a resource library, assistance in preparing quality resumes and cover letters, help in developing effective interviewing skills, information on employers' expectations, and career assessment for undecided students.  For more information or to schedule an appointment, contact the office at 740.366.9453 or Derek Thatcher, Director of Career Development.

Career Exploration & Choosing a Major or Program of Study 

The Office of Career Development & Experiential Learning Services encourages undecided students to explore their options.  No matter where you are in your career development, in order to make informed decisions, you need information about yourself and about the world of work.  A variety of resources to assist you in your exploration process are provided.

Experiential Learning (Internships)

The Ohio State University at Newark recognizes the importance of experiential learning opportunities for both the educational advancement of students and the growth of host employers’ businesses and organizations.

Career Fair -  The Ohio State University at Newark and Central Ohio Technical College will host a Career Fair Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at the Newark campus. The Career Fair is devoted to effectively connecting area employers with well-qualified candiates at one event.
